Dinant. A fun city.

I’ve visited this little city in Belgium a few times now. Feels like I know where the nice fries spot is, where to get some drinks that are really enjoyable,

There’s a few fun events that happen yearly too, one of which was a lot of fun to see, it was the bathtub competition. It’s a yearly event (unless it’s changed). And the gist of it is, a team has to make a canoe out of a bathtub and row from point 1 to point 2 without it sinking. It’s as fun and as funny as you can imagine 😉

But, that’s not why we went to Dinant. The GFX 100s ii was in my hands and yep. Once again. I wanted to have some more fun with it. So off we went.

The GFX 100s ii finally arrived!

After weeks of trepidation, issues with deliveries, issues with orders and difficulties in ordering the camera, I managed to get a hold of the Fuji team in Belgium and they were exceptional at handling my situation. They held my hand through the entire process and walked me through what I should and should not consider.

After the consultations and assistance, I placed the order and a few days later. In my hands, a brand spanking new GFX 100s ii with the 35-70mm lens. (Calling it a kit lens doesn’t do it justice).

What did I do? I took my wife to the park nearby and tested it out. A bit nippy, but a beautiful day altogether.

Some of the views on this gloomy day from Floralia made a trip to the gardens worth their while.

Once again, on the GFX 100s ii as I tested colours and wanted to see how the camera behaved. I think overall the colours are beautiful. Somehow the feel is more three dimensional.

Amsterdam. This is a beautiful city. Took the GFX 100s ii out for a day to walk, sit on a boat, and on the train so that it could enjoy the sceneries and I wanted to see what I could find out about the capture possibilities. It did not disappoint.

As someone who really enjoys Panoramic photography, the fact that I could take a 100 megapixel image and just cut it up as needed and format it for a panoramic image is a dream.

In the past, these would be 5-25 images so I could capture exactly what I want. Now, 1 image shot at 35mm encapsulates what I need in most instances.

It turned out to be a beautiful day when we visited. I was obviously trigger happy and walked away with at least 100 images from the day which I whittled down to what I thought was the best here.

A brief note about my trip to the Northern region of Pakistan.

Over the course of my almost 3 and a half decades of photography, I have had an immensely fruitful and beautiful career.

I’ve spent a tremendous amount of time in East Africa, and taken trips to and around the most beautiful locations there. From the beautiful views of the Lutembe bay in Uganda, to the peaks of Mount Kenya, I feel like very few places were left unguarded to my travels.

The northern regions of Pakistan have always been one of my bucket list locations. After several different attempts at getting there, and having trips cut short for various reasons and cancelled, in May of 2026, my first trip to the Chitral region of Pakistan was confirmed.

Below, you’ll find a selection from my images that I hold close to my heart. They have been photographed with the Fuji GFX 100s ii camera with a 35-70mm lens which I have to say is one of the most versatile and smooth lenses I’ve owned to date.
